Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are
GameSquad is a gaming community operating custom game servers (currently ARK: Survival Evolved). We are not a registered company — GameSquad is run by its administrators as a hobby community.
2. Data We Collect
When you log in through Steam, we receive and store the following data from the Steam OpenID system:
- Steam64 ID — your unique Steam identifier
- Display name — your Steam persona name at time of login
- Avatar URL — your Steam profile picture URL
We also store data you generate on our platform:
- Coin balance (in-game currency granted via Patreon support)
- Patreon membership tier (if you link your Patreon account)
- Your account creation date and last update timestamp
We do not collect passwords, email addresses, payment details, or any data beyond what is listed above.
3. Cookies
We use a single session cookie (gamesquad_session) strictly to keep you logged in. This cookie contains no personal information — it references a server-side session. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics scripts.
4. How We Use Your Data
- To identify you when you log in
- To display your profile name and avatar on the site
- To manage your in-game coin balance and Patreon tier
- To enforce community rules (e.g. banning accounts that violate our rules)
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party, except as required to operate our services (Steam login via Steam OpenID, Patreon integration via Patreon webhooks).
5. Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account exists or as long as GameSquad is operational. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting an administrator on Discord.
Coin balances are stored indefinitely and do not expire. If the service is discontinued or a game server is shut down, any associated coin balance may become unusable. Coins hold no monetary value and cannot be refunded or transferred.
6. Third-Party Services
Steam (Valve Corporation) — We use Steam OpenID for authentication. Valve's privacy policy applies to interactions with Steam: steam privacy policy.
Patreon — If you become a Patreon supporter, Patreon sends us a webhook notification with your Patreon email, tier name, and membership status. Patreon's privacy policy applies: patreon privacy policy.
7. Your Rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us via Discord to exercise these rights. We will respond within 30 days.
